Clear Need
Funders need to understand who the work is for, why it matters and why it matters now.
If you are starting or running a CIC in Sheffield, funding usually depends on more than the structure itself. Funders want to see a clear need, a realistic plan, a workable budget and confidence that the project can be delivered well.
Funders need to understand who the work is for, why it matters and why it matters now.
The project has to suit the funder. Not every opportunity is the right one.
If the numbers do not make sense, everything else starts to wobble.
Partnerships, evidence and a believable plan help people trust the work.
We try to offer free help where we can and point people towards the right support first. Where a project needs more hands-on help, SCO CIC can support with shaping the work, building budgets, preparing funding applications and handling the business side that often slows people down.
We can help review the project idea, tighten the budget, and strengthen bids and delivery plans.
Some ideas are better developed under an existing CIC first, before spinning out into their own structure.
Any income generated goes back into the CIC and into supporting more projects, in line with the asset lock in our articles of association.
Our work includes Industrial Elements, 09 Murals and wider funding experience including EU funding and theatre and arts funding for dance.
Tell us where you are at, and we will help you decide what kind of support makes sense. If there is a stronger free route, we will point you there.
